We Care because We Must Care

I care. You care. We all care.

We care in varying degrees. Why do we care? Why should we care? To care is to look beyond one’s self.

There is so much to care about: the environment, our loved ones, friends, schools, churches, society, the world, those in heed, the children, the drugs, the poverty, the hopelessness, the depressed, the abused, and so on.

To care is to be alive. To love is to be alive. The two walk hand in hand. If people stopped caring, the world would fall apart. It would be lost forever.

Activists care. Peacemakers care. Ministers care. Caregivers care. Grandparents and parents care. Teachers, counselors, nurses, doctors, politicians, firefighters and more, care. An endless list of people care. It is a joining in a creative, synergy of released energy.

We see a need. We know what should be done. We make a plan. We jump in to make it happen. We see it through. We don’t give up. We care.

The caring may be bigger than the ability to affect the reality, to generate the needful solution; but we must carry on, determined .

Caring is a sweet savor that cuts through the bitter dregs that tarnish daily existence. We are grateful for all who care enough to give outwardly.

Caring is a joy.
