TO THOSE WHO ARE THIRSTY

Thirsty? You may need a cup of cool water. In Christ, there is a cup of cool water for the thirsty; refreshment for the hungering soul; spiritual awakening for the openly alert. We need literal water, and we need figurative water. Both are human needs.

Christ offers us exactly what we need on a daily basis. Moment by moment he gives out of himself that we may receive nourishment.  This is a filling of a spiritual nature, not for the physical body but to nurture the soul. Our soul is empty and void unless there is a refreshing from God. We hold up our plate. God serves us healthy food.

The tricky part is what we must do to get it, which is contingent on the asking. Ask and you receive. People are spiritually awakened through a process of enlivening, restoring and freeing. A soul set free is living life in fullness. There is enjoyment that comes through the refreshing of our spirit.

Enlivened people exude joy and peace. Their lives are a blend of the natural mixed with the supernatural. Their energy is contagious and their joy unstoppable. Why is this commodity rare? Too few ask, too few desire, too few care about the deeper truths of God.

You don’t need to be one of them. Asking is where it starts. You must ask in faith believing you will receive. We are on the receiving end when Christ offers us a cup of cool water in his name. Days blessed by Jesus become your new normal. This is living water that lasts and lasts and never goes dry.

Is this hard? It can be but it need not be. Living water fills us when we allow ourselves to be immersed in Christ’s being. That comes through seeking and partaking, listening and applying. I wish you well on your spiritual journey. God’s best.
