I have wanted to read this book for quite sometime. Why? I watched some videos of Jim Cymbala praying with the people at his church, the Brooklyn Tabernacle. What I saw was authenticity. Reading the book did not disappoint. He credits prayer as the key to the “success” of his ministry. This book says a lot about ministry and the need to do it God’s way. He makes a statement I will quote:

We must face the fact that for our churches and ministries to be all God wants them to be, they must be saturated with prayer. No new revelation or church-growth techniques will change the fact that spiritual power is always linked to communion with God. If you and I are prayerless, if our churches have no appetite for God’s presence, we will never reach our full potential in him.”
